Volunteer Program

At CCS we value and appreciate the volunteers who help to make up the "Covenant" family. The objectives and goals of the CCS Volunteer Program are as follows:
- To provide the faculty and staff with support services in a mutually agreeable manner
- For parents or other adults in the community to provide students with enriched or additional learning experiences through their special skills and interests
- To relieve teachers, in many instances, of certain routine duties, freeing them to devote more time to their professional duties
- To serve the school's need for community input in planning efforts by serving on committees, councils, and study groups. These efforts also build a support base for the needs of the school.
- To demonstrate the Scriptural mandate to display Christian unity and love (John 13:34-35)
Goals
- To strengthen the involvement of parents in the education of their children
- To increase participation of businesses and churches in the school and broaden community and church involvement in our school
- To establish awards and recognition for individual businesses and organizations that contribute to effective partnerships
- To establish mutually beneficial partnerships with businesses, other institutions of learning, churches, and community organizations
- New skills which may be used in future paid work
- New friendships with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Share special skills and talents with students and make a real difference for our children
- Specific hours of volunteer service may potentially be used for teacher college observation hours
- May be able to deduct on tax returns mileage driven to and from the school site by documenting mileage (or bus/taxi costs). Ask a tax professional.
