ADMISSIONS

Requirements

A parent (s) or guardian must subscribe to the CCS Statement of Faith and desire to cooperate in developing their child according to Christian principles.

 

The student and family shall faithfully attend a Bible-believing church and yearly submit a "pastor's form."

A student shall:

  • Be capable of academic success
  • Have a positive record of discipline and emotional adjustment.
  • Have no physical handicap or disability prohibiting normal progress.
  • Have no promotion or retention unless noted by CCS and given parent approval for either action.
  • For grades 7 & 8, meet the admissions criteria as outlined for this specific grade level.
  • Be current on all immunizations.
  • Be five years of age on or before September 1 for kindergarten and three years of age on or before September 1 for preschool admission.
  • For eighth grade, not to be retained when chronologically after fourteen if such retention would impede future graduation from high school.

Procedures

To enroll your child at Covenant Christian School, the following steps should be taken:

  •  Read through the CCS Information Packet.
  • Arrange for a conference time with the school administration by calling the school office at 630-859-8010.
  • Arrange for transfer of your child's school records to Covenant Christian School. Transcript Request Forms may be obtained through the school office.
  • Complete all of the health records required by the State of Illinois. Immunizations for diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, measles, mumps, rubella and hepatitis B are required for students entering preschool, kindergarten and fifth grade. Forms for school physicals and immunization records can be obtained from the school office.
  • Submit Pastor Questionnaire to your pastor. If you are new to the area, you may submit form to your previous pastor.
  • Submit completed enrollment application, application fee (please refer to tuition and fees schedule) and $10.00 credit check fee (if choosing monthly payment plan). Jr. High applicants shall submit Junior High application with 2 adult references.
  • Parents will be notified of application acceptance. A required placement test will be scheduled and administered for a fee of $10.00.
  • In the event of non-admission to CCS, written appeals stating why a student should be admitted must be made to the CCS school board within 7 days of notification. After that date, appeals will not be considered.
  • Scholarship applications may be requested at the time of submitting CCS applications and will be considered in order of available funding, order of financial need, and order of completed application.
  • Students shall be admitted to classes with limited space in the order in which their completed applications are received except for application with brothers or sisters previously enrolled in the school.
